In 2024, the Earth’s oceans suffered the 4th global mass coral bleaching event. As ocean temperatures rise, corals expel the algae that provide colour and nourishment, and prolonged heat stress prevents their recovery.
25% of ALL marine life depend on coral reefs at some point in their life cycle, including Sea Turtles. I created this painting to express the helplessness of animals that depend on one of the most fragile and valuable ecosystems on Earth.
